About the Role
Lakeside School, an independent 5-12 coeducational day school located in North Seattle, is seeking Middle School Soccer Coaches. Practices begin the week of August 24, 2026, and the season concludes in late October.
These coaches will report to the head varsity girls soccer coach and the Assistant Director of Athletics - Middle School, joining an athletics program that includes 26 varsity teams, most with sub-varsity and middle-school counterparts. The girls soccer program supports Upper School teams as well as several Middle School teams.
Responsibilities
- Compliance with all Lakeside School and Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) policies and procedures.
- Commitment to supporting a diverse student body with varying lived experiences and levels of preparation as student-athletes.
- Supervision and instruction of student-athletes during team activities.
- Attendance at required program and interscholastic athletics meetings.
- Support of multi-sport participation for student-athletes.
- Promotion of balanced achievement in all areas of school life for student-athletes.
- Additional program-wide duties as assigned by the head varsity coach or Assistant Director of Athletics - Middle School.
Requirements and Qualifications
- At least 19 years of age.
- Availability for all practices (twice per week for 75 minutes at either 3:45 or 5 pm) and competitions (weekends) during the season.
- Experience playing or coaching soccer at the club, middle school, high school, or college level.
- Demonstrated cultural awareness, including knowledge of personal cultural lenses and respect for diverse perspectives.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to the start of the season).
- Satisfactory completion of two criminal background checks.
