About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching science to middle school students in a supportive and engaging environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with state standards.
  • Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes, projects, and observations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and support student success.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
  • Michigan teaching certification or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
  • Experience working with middle school students preferred but not required.

Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students and staff.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage classroom activities and maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

Skills

  • Proficiency in using educational technology tools.
  • Knowledge of current scientific research and pedagogical practices.

Pay

$45,000 annually.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM.
