About the role
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching science to middle school students in a supportive and engaging environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective lesson plans aligned with state standards.
- Assess student learning through various methods including quizzes, projects, and observations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional strategies and support student success.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
- Michigan teaching certification or the ability to obtain within one year of employment.
- Experience working with middle school students preferred but not required.
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of students and staff.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage classroom activities and maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in using educational technology tools.
- Knowledge of current scientific research and pedagogical practices.
