Essential Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with school curriculum and academic standards.
- Teach middle school science concepts through hands-on activities, experiments, demonstrations, and technology-based learning opportunities.
- Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and scientific inquiry skills.
- Create and maintain a positive, respectful, and productive classroom environment.
- Assess student learning through assignments, projects, quizzes, tests, labs, and other evaluation methods.
- Maintain accurate records of student grades, attendance, and academic progress.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, academic concerns, and classroom activities.
- Integrate Catholic values and teachings into the educational experience.
- Collaborate with faculty, administration, and staff to support school goals and student success.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, parent conferences, and school events.
- Maintain classroom equipment, supplies, and laboratory materials in a safe and organized manner.
- Ensure adherence to school policies and procedures regarding student safety and conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Science, or a related field required.
- Valid Missouri teaching certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
- Previous teaching experience at the middle school level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of life science, physical science, earth science, and scientific inquiry practices.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
