Middle School Science Teacher

About the role

The successful candidate will teach middle school science in grades 7-12 at Fredonia Middle School. The position is full-time and starts in August 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach middle school science courses including Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, and General Science.
• Instruct students in grades 7-12 on a range of scientific topics.
• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with state educational standards.
• Maintain accurate records and report student progress to parents and guardians.
• Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance teaching methods and student learning.

Requirements

• Valid New York State certification in Physics & General Science 7-12, General Science Grades 7-12 Extension, Biology 7-12, Chemistry 7-12, Earth Science & General Science 7-12 & 5-6 Extension, Earth Science & General Science 7-12, Biology & General Science 7-12, Chemistry & General Science 7-12, Earth Science 7-12, Biology Grades 5-9, Chemistry & General Science 7-9 Extension, Earth Science Grades 5-9, General Science Grades 5-9 Extension.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Experience teaching middle school science.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.

Skills

• Effective classroom management skills.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
• Proficiency in using technology to enhance teaching and learning.

Pay

Salary per FTA contract - $44,066.00 base (actual salary offer dependent on degrees, graduate credits, and experiences).

Schedule

Full-time position starting August 31, 2026.
