Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a DX or DI endorsement
- Catechist certification (or willingness to attain certification)
- Strong example of Catholic Christian faith
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, parents, and staff
- Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills
- Competency in student management and supervision
- Must take Protecting God's Children class
Requirements
- Teaches all subjects utilizing the AOD curriculum, state benchmarks, and national standards
- Engages students in learning through best practice strategies
- Affirms the mission and vision of the school by promoting the Catholic faith and the teachings of the Church
- Assists the administration in organizing and revising curriculum
- Creates well-crafted lesson plans
- Performs various non-instructional duties, such as attendance, lunch duty, recess, and bus room duty
- Attends monthly in-service meetings, staff meetings, and committee meetings as required
- Maintains a safe, clean, and comfortable classroom environment
- Participates in professional learning teams through memberships in school committees and grade level discussions
- Uses a variety of student assessment tools to gauge student understanding and will design alternate teaching techniques as a result
