Join our committed tutor team at Club Z! Bethesda and work one-on-one with dedicated students, mentoring them and fostering their academic achievements. This opportunity is for an exceptional educator to provide personalized, in-home tutoring to a committed 8th-grade student in the Rockville and Potomac, Maryland areas. Applicants must live in the Greater Bethesda, Rockville, Kensington, North Bethesda, or Potomac, Maryland areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized tutoring for an 8th-grade student in core subjects, with a priority focus on math.
• Reinforce the student's strong executive functioning, study skills, and self-confidence.
• Support homework review and test preparation.
• Maintain regular communication with parents and our office about student progress.

Subject Areas:

• Math: Pre-algebra, algebra 1 concepts, geometry foundations
• English/Language Arts: Reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar
• Study Skills & Executive Functioning: Organization, time management, note-taking
• Science: Life science, earth science, physical science
• Test Prep: MCAP and MAP preparation, study strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree
• 2 years of teaching or tutoring experience
• Strong communication skills with students and parents
• Reliable transportation (for in-home sessions)
• Background check clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Canvas and online education portal experience
• IXL math experience
• Executive functioning coaching experience
