Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited or approved institution required.
- Valid New Jersey Department of Education certification as a Principal and/or Supervisor required.
- Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience at the middle school and/or high school level preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with middle school and/or high school programs, curriculum, instruction, student supports, and school operations.
- Ability to serve as an instructional leader and support effective teaching, learning, assessment, and professional growth.
- Outstanding communication, collaboration, organization, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, administration, and the school community.
Required Criminal History Background Check and Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Legal Resident Alien Status

Traits Necessary to Carry Out Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Strong interpersonal skills and legal knowledge necessary to oversee educational standards in accordance with the law.
- A strong command over classroom instruction necessary to provide teachers with high-quality feedback.
- A caring while firm disposition to manage approximately 350 middle school students and address student discipline; investigate and process harassment, intimidation, and bullying incidents; and foster a positive school climate.
- A knowledge of student information systems, including scheduling, grading, and transcript processes.
- A commitment to outreaching and partnering with parents and the community.
- Conflict resolution skills necessary to mediate challenging situations.
Terms of Employment
- Minimum daily rate of $500 or other negotiated rate based on years of experience.
- The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or the Public Employees' Retirement System.
- The position is not eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends for extracurricular activities, coaching, or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
- In accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:16-1:1, time accrued in a leave replacement position does not count towards tenure.
