Fine Arts at Great Hearts: Fine Arts are not just electives but part of the core curriculum at Great Hearts: all students study music, drama, poetry and studio art. Music coursework includes both “applied” or performance foci as well as substantive music theory, history, and appreciation. We boast a stellar faculty across the fine arts curriculum, most of whom are professional artists and performers.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned classes using the Great Hearts curriculum and materials, preparing thoughtful lessons and cultivating an orderly, joyful classroom that supports the pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty.
- Provide appropriate academic support to students, monitor progress, and partner with school leadership to address academic or behavioral needs in a timely manner.
- Uphold and model the culture, policies, and expectations of Great Hearts, including dress code, conduct, and safety procedures, contributing to a respectful and orderly school environment.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with families, initiating conferences as needed and fostering strong home-school partnerships.
- Participate fully in the life of the academy through faculty collaboration, school events, assigned duties, and a shared commitment to ongoing professional growth and excellence in teaching.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or higher degree is required for a lead teaching role
- Certification is not required for general education
- All majors are welcome
- US Work Authorization
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a criminal history background check and fingerprint clearance in accordance with state requirements.
