Middle School Math Teacher, Part time

About the role

Responsibilities

• Provide support for small groups of math students in pre-algebra and algebra classes under the direction of the lead middle school math teacher.
• Possibly facilitate an independent study geometry class, depending on skill level and need.
• Work closely with math teachers to understand Waverly’s math program and delivery of curriculum.
• Be aligned with Waverly's progressive, project-based approach.
• Possibly teach an interest based quarterly elective if interest and part time hours allow.
• Collaborate with middle school faculty and learning support educators.
• Adhere to policies and procedures as outlined in the the employee and faculty handbooks.

• Strong sense of healthy teacher/student boundaries.
• Background in Project-Based Learning pedagogy or strong desire to work within a PBL framework.

Skills

• Strong math background.
• Experience supporting students with a wide range of learning needs.

Pay

$25,000 - 45,000 annually

Schedule

Part time – 12-month year, exempt

Typical on-campus hours per week: 20 hours between 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
