About the role

Baton Rouge Ochsner Discovery Health Sciences Academy (BROD) is a newly authorized Type 2 Charter that is part of the Discovery Schools Charter Management Organization. The school opened for the 2023-24 school year, starting with grades PreK4 - 4th and will eventually educate students in grades PreK - 8th at full capacity.

Responsibilities

• Teach Middle School Mathematics
• Support middle school students in a school setting
• Knowledge of LEAP, ACT/SAT prep, and Louisiana State Standards preferred
• Train and participate in workshops in the summer
• Support one or more extracurricular clubs or sports outside of the regular school day

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Middle School Mathematics
• 1+ years of experience with middle school students in a school setting preferred
• Certification or interest in achieving certification in multiple areas a plus

Qualifications

• Strong candidate with an interest and ability to support extracurricular activities
• Ability to work in a school setting

Skills

• Knowledge of LEAP, ACT/SAT prep, and Louisiana State Standards
