About the role
Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking a dynamic Middle School Industrial Technology Education Teacher to join a mission-driven team serving approximately 800 students in grades 5-8.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all students are provided with experience in construction techniques, manufacturing processes, transportation systems, CAD/design software, fabrication equipment, and STEM integration.
- Maintain strong classroom management skills while creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging laboratory environment that promotes student creativity, collaboration, and career readiness.
- Deliver career-focused rigorous, engaging instruction; use data to differentiate and drive achievement.
- Collaboratively support whole-child development and character development.
- Provide remediation beyond regular classroom hours.
- Perform an additional duty assignment as part of the teaching schedule.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education required.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- Certification in technology education required.
- Specialized certifications a plus.
- Experience teaching diverse learners’ technology skills including construction techniques, manufacturing processes, transportation systems, CAD/design software, fabrication, and STEM.
- Proven ability to create engaging, rigorous, and relevant lessons.
- Skilled in data-driven instruction and differentiation.
- Strong classroom management skills, including an ability to effectively implement lessons in a laboratory environment in a safe, inclusive, and engaging manner.
- Effective collaborator with multidisciplinary teams.
- Creative instructional strategies that build critical thinking & collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organization and multi-tasking skills.
- Candidate must be “all in” and eager to engage with students beyond the classroom and school day.
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all MHS staff are role models for students.
Qualifications
