Middle School Head Baseball Coach

Part-time position reporting to the Principal and Athletic Director. Athletic stipend provided. Location: district-wide.

Essential Functions

• Familiar with the rules and regulations of the sport being coached
• Holds tryouts and trains students throughout the preseason process
• Attends every game and guides the team during competition
• Works directly with the school athletic trainer to report injuries, teach safety precautions and procedures, and help students prevent injuries
• Collaborates with the athletic training staff in the rehabilitation and strengthening of injured athletes
• Ensures team rules and regulations regarding conduct and eligibility are clearly communicated and followed
• Models good sportsmanship behavior and maintains appropriate conduct toward opposing teams, fans, parents, officials, spectators, and the community

Requirements

• Completion of training or education programs required by the state of South Carolina and Marlboro County School District
• CPR certification
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Successful completion of a background check
