Middle School Girls Basketball Coach

Jim Thorpe Area School District is currently accepting applications for the position of Middle School Girls Basketball Coach.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for coaching middle school girls basketball teams, developing players' skills, and fostering a positive team culture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program for middle school girls
• Coach and mentor players to improve their skills and teamwork
• Collaborate with other coaches and staff to ensure a cohesive athletic program
• Attend all scheduled games and practices
• Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding player progress

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
• Minimum of three years of coaching experience at the middle school level
• Experience working with young athletes
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and motivational skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Skills

• Knowledge of basketball rules and regulations
• Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and community members
• Proficiency in using technology for lesson planning and communication

Pay

The salary range for this position is $35,000 - $40,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Schedule

The schedule includes regular weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as weekends for game days.
