Reports to: Building Principal and State & Federal Programs Director
About the Role
1.0 FTE Intervention Specialist position at MPMS.
Qualifications
- At least a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university with a major in education (ELA/Reading).
- Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
- Demonstrated experience working with the age level of students for the position.
- Demonstrated leadership in MTSS and small group interventions.
- Demonstrated understanding of research-based instructional practices.
- Physical examination by a licensed physician documenting capability to perform required duties.
- Electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check.
Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based direct instructional support in reading, writing, and mathematics to both teachers and students.
- Provide supplemental direct instruction in small or individual group settings.
- Conduct ongoing progress monitoring of at-risk students and report to building administrators, teachers, and families.
- Active involvement and participation in the building MTSS team.
- Provide academic feedback to families after program completion.
- Maintain a time and effort log reflecting what was taught and which students participated.
