Reports to: Building Principal and State & Federal Programs Director

About the Role

1.0 FTE Intervention Specialist position at MPMS.

Qualifications

  • At least a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university with a major in education (ELA/Reading).
  • Valid Michigan teaching certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience working with the age level of students for the position.
  • Demonstrated leadership in MTSS and small group interventions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of research-based instructional practices.
  • Physical examination by a licensed physician documenting capability to perform required duties.
  • Electronic fingerprint clearance from a criminal history record check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based direct instructional support in reading, writing, and mathematics to both teachers and students.
  • Provide supplemental direct instruction in small or individual group settings.
  • Conduct ongoing progress monitoring of at-risk students and report to building administrators, teachers, and families.
  • Active involvement and participation in the building MTSS team.
  • Provide academic feedback to families after program completion.
  • Maintain a time and effort log reflecting what was taught and which students participated.

Requirements

Workplace and district policy requires drug testing for all potential employees.
