About the role

The Middle School Dean of Culture is responsible for fostering a positive school culture at Mott Haven Middle School. This position oversees the social-emotional learning initiatives, supports teachers in creating inclusive classrooms, and ensures that all students feel safe and supported.

Responsibilities

• Oversee social-emotional learning programs and initiatives
• Support teachers in implementing inclusive classroom practices
• Facilitate professional development opportunities for staff
• Collaborate with families to promote student success
• Maintain a safe and supportive school environment

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, or related field
• At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a K-12 educational setting
• Experience in promoting social-emotional learning and cultural competency
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

• Knowledge of current research on social-emotional learning
• Experience with data-driven decision making
