Middle School Chorus/General Music, Liberty Middle School

About the role

The Liberty Central School District seeks a dedicated and experienced music teacher to lead and grow their comprehensive middle school choir program.

Responsibilities

• Inspire students through the instruction of 5th and 6th grade choir, 7th and 8th grade choir, and general music classes.
• Accompany the choir on piano.
• Direct the Middle School musical.
• Plan and lead student performances including school concerts, assemblies, community events, All County preparation, and NYSSMA/festival participation.
• Prepare students for festivals, adjudications, and honors ensembles.
• Integrate technology into music instruction.
• Collaborate with music staff and high school faculty.

Requirements

• Minimum education level: BA/BM in music education or music performance (MA/MM preferred).
• Experience teaching Middle School Choir preferred.
• Proficiency in voice and piano.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Organizational skills to manage music library and other program resources.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• NYS Certified Music Teacher.
• Experience in MS Chorus and General Music, grades 5 - 8.
