The Role
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the exciting work and responsibilities will include:
- Organizing practices and games
- Making sure student athletes keep up with their studies
- Providing an introduction to the program for all student athletes
- Talking to coaches and the athletic director about how the student athletes are doing
- Being there for the team and the athletes until everyone is done after each event
- Gathering important papers like medical forms to make sure everything is in order
The Person
We're looking for someone who:
- Has some experience coaching
- Knows a lot about the sport they're coaching
- Can get CPR and AED training
- Has a college degree
- Has extra training in their sport
- Has coached before
- Works with kids
MUST HAVES
- 0-3 years of coaching experience
- Knowledge of the sport, including rules and terminology
- A valid CPR and AED certification from a recognized organization, or willingness to get certified within a given time frame
NICE TO HAVES
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college
- Continuing education in their sport
- Experience coaching the specific sport
- Experience working with kids
