Middle School Building Substitute for 2026-27
The Building Substitutes for the Middle School for the 2026-27 school year are currently being sought and actively interviewed.
About the role
This is a great position for a candidate looking for experience in a school setting/classroom or who has experience working in schools and wants a change of pace each day! The successful candidates will substitute in any assignment in their home building (or same division building if fully staffed in the home building). Assignments could be any teaching and/or aide position in that building. This includes regular education and special education. Daily assignments would be provided by your building administrator and/or secretary based upon the greatest area of need. If your home building is fully staffed, you will be asked to help support at one of those buildings. If we are fully staffed across all buildings, you will have the choice to stay and help support with special projects or go home if you wish. We can guarantee from approximately September 7, 2026 through May 28, 2027 any day that school is in session, with the exception of PSSA and Keystone testing days. You can let us know if you need a day off for appointments, personal schedule, etc., and we will block your day. You would not be able to pick up assignments from teachers who request you in advance, as the Building Substitute position is reserved for the greatest areas of needs each day. You would be provided a District laptop, keys, fobs, parking pass, and be paid at $140/day.
Qualifications
- A teaching certification in PA is preferred.
- A minimum of an Emergency Certification (via Guest Teacher or Classroom Monitor Permit) is required.
- Flexibility and adaptability for daily assignments is required.
- Previous experience working in a school-setting is preferred.
