Middle School Building Based Substitute Teacher
Duties
Provide daily classroom coverage for absent teachers across grade levels and subject areas within the building.
Maintain established classroom routines, ensure a safe learning environment, and support positive student behavior.
Collaborate with teachers and administrators to support instructional goals and student learning.
Assist with supervision duties and other school-wide responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must hold a valid New York State Teaching Certificate/meet NYSED requirements for substitute teaching
- Bachelor's degree required; degree in Education or related field preferred
- Prior experience working with middle/secondary school students in an educational setting is strongly preferred
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills to effectively support instruction and maintain a positive learning environment

- Ability to quickly adapt to different classrooms, grade levels, and subject areas while maintaining continuity of instruction
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
