Middle School Affective Needs Autism Teacher- Aurora, CO
About the role
We're looking for Special Education Teachers open to working in an Autism Center Based Middle School Classroom, approximately between 10-13 students with 2-3 paras. Ideally 2 years of experience but we can be flexible!
Responsibilities
- Teach students with autism spectrum disorder in a school-based setting
- Work closely with para-professionals and other special education staff
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other educators
- Provide support and accommodations to ensure all students have access to learning
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
- Valid Colorado teaching license or ability to obtain one within 3 months of start date
- Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorder preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Pass a background check
- Pass a drug screening
- Pass a criminal history check

Local Pay: $50-54 /hr
Schedule
Monday- Friday, 37.5 hrs / wk, 36 weeks
