Middle School ABA Paraprofessional - McCarthy Middle School

Anticipated vacancy for the 2026-2027 school year at McCarthy Middle School. The district reserves the right to change or not fill this vacancy based on staffing changes, enrollment, or budget.

About the role

The successful candidate will work with middle school students to support them in academic, social, and communication tasks in the school setting. They will follow and implement curriculum and behavioral support plans, collect data consistently for assigned students, and work as part of an interdisciplinary team of teachers, BCBAs, and related service providers.

Responsibilities

• Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting
• Assist students with toileting as needed
• Follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers
• Collect data consistently
• Follow and implement behavior support plans

Requirements

• Must be ABA trained (Applied Behavior Analysis) or willing to receive district-provided ABA training
• High school diploma and minimum of 2 years of college
• Knowledge and understanding of ASD disability
• Knowledge of school classroom procedures, including preparation and maintenance of records
• Knowledge of special education procedures
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the middle school level
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting
• Interest in working with students with exceptionalities
