Middle School 5th & 6th Grade Social Studies Teacher (Leave Replacement)
Montclair Kimberley Academy, an innovative PreK-12 independent day school with a strong national reputation and a recognized 1:1 laptop learning program, seeks a Middle School Social Studies teacher for a contract position from November through the end of the 2026-2027 school year.
Responsibilities
- Teach four sections of Social Studies
- Serve as a fifth-grade co-advisor to a group of about 16 students
- Integrate technology into classroom instruction
- Work collaboratively as a member of the department and teach a range of classes according to department needs
Requirements
- BA in History Education or related field of History
- 2 years teaching experience preferred
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Willingness and flexibility to work as a member of a collaborative team
- Love of learning
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and representative education that honors students’ narratives and fosters exploration of multiple perspectives
Pay
The annual salary range for this full-time, contract position is $50,000–$100,000, pro-rated based on the contract period. Final salary will be determined by teaching experience.
