Middle Office Analyst Associate – Residential Focus & ABS Warehousing
Deutsche Bank’s Middle Office Trade & Transaction Analyst / Associate provides operational expertise, independent governance, and risk-control oversight to ensure the timely, accurate, and complete management of transactions and collateral assets. This role specializes in Residential Real Estate and U.S. ABS Mortgage Warehouse Lending, supporting the integrity, movement, and reporting of collateral and loan documentation while ensuring effective risk management across the transaction lifecycle.
Working closely with Front Office, Operations, Technology, Legal, Finance, and other internal stakeholders, the analyst performs critical control functions related to collateral onboarding, mortgage asset uploads and reviews, borrowing base validation, advance rate determination, concentration limit monitoring, exposure management, and collateral movement activities. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of data maintained across LoanIQ, Loan Information Processing System (LIPS), and other internal platforms.
About the role
The Middle Office Analyst / Associate supports the overall loan origination, collateral management, and loan maintenance process from initial trade booking through collateral intake and review, revenue recognition, daily exposure monitoring, control execution, and risk mitigation. This role operates within the Investment Bank Fixed Income & Currencies division, specifically the Global Financing & Credit Trading Middle Office (GFCT MO), which supports Asset Based Securities (ABS) lending.
Responsibilities
- Manage the deal pipeline and support trade/transaction execution from initial booking through downstream operational readiness.
- Support the disbursement of funds, management of incoming cash transactions, and complex revenue calculations in accordance with business requirements and established controls.
- Review complex lending legal agreements to extract key economic attributes and ensure accurate operational setup, maintenance, and control execution.
- Monitor and manage the movement of collateral and loan documents across counterparties, ensuring adherence to established procedures and timely resolution of discrepancies or delays.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date collateral records in LIPS and related internal systems to reflect the status of collateral assets and loan documentation.
- Perform independent control functions related to the upload, review, and ongoing monitoring of underlying mortgage assets supporting US ABS Mortgage warehouse lines.
- Validate Borrowing Bases, determine Advance Rates, and monitor Concentration Limits for ABS US transactions subject to margining based on fair value collateral or market value triggers.
- Manage daily exposure and collateral movements for an assigned portfolio of clients, including prompt response to margin calls and collateral-related requests.
- Review for accuracy and execute mortgage release letters/deeds of reconveyance in accordance with established controls and business requirements.
- Build and manage partnerships across internal businesses, including Front Office, Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders, to support business objectives, regulatory requirements, operational controls, and platform improvements.
- Work as part of a team to ensure full front-to-back operational readiness for products ranging from high-volume vanilla trading to highly complex structured transactions.
- Operate in a high-pressure, risk-control environment as a self-starter with strong organization, analytical judgment, attention to detail, independent ownership, and appropriate escalation of self-identified risks or control gaps.
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review collateral data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues timely.
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date collateral records.
- Experience with LIPS and understanding of collateral management processes preferred.
- Experience with LoanIQ preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, graphs, functions, lookups, and if statements.
- Robust experience using SharePoint and Power Automate.
- Understanding of loan accounting, borrowing bases, advance rates, and collateral margining concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and master new concepts, systems, and control requirements.

Pay
The salary range for this position in Jacksonville, FL is $65,000 - $78,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location, and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
Schedule
It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.
