Middle and Upper School Substitute Teacher Pool

Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Head of Middle & Upper School, covering classes as determined by the school for the following disciplines: Humanities, Math, Science, World Languages, PE/Wellness/Outdoor Education, and Interdisciplinary Electives.
• Implementing instruction that aligns with lesson plans and curriculum shared by Barrie teachers.
• Maintaining established routines and procedures of assigned classrooms.
• Sharing class progress and concerns with Barrie teachers daily.
• Communicating effectively with students, faculty, and administrators as needed.
• Taking attendance and sharing updates with appropriate administrators.
• Covering advisories and school-day community duties for teachers as needed.
• Maintaining student confidentiality and following procedures and laws.
• Supporting a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Demonstrating empathy, respect, and an understanding of equity.
• Upholding standards of professionalism.

Qualifications

• An undergraduate degree.
• A background in education or related experience.
• Passion for working with Middle & Upper School students.
• Accountability for all areas of responsibility.
