About The Project
Communities in Cameroon are seeking educators to enhance English proficiency and increase girls' participation in science education. Currently, only 36% of STEM students in secondary schools are girls, and dropout rates for girls are high, reaching up to 80% in rural areas. The transition from teacher-centered to student-centered learning requires teachers to develop digital literacy and integrate digital resources effectively.
Responsibilities
- Conduct community needs assessments to identify school, student, teacher, and community needs.
- Develop teaching materials aligned with the national curriculum.
- Teach English, math, or science lessons for grades 6–9.
- Provide remedial tutoring to help students reach their full potential in English, math, and science.
- Lead extracurricular clubs and activities, including girls' clubs, reading clubs, and school events.
- Support teacher training sessions on life skills and digital literacy.
- Engage in secondary projects that address community interests and priorities, such as tree planting and life skills camps.
Requirements
- Associate degree in any field and at least two years of full-time, post-high school work experience (from any combination of roles).
- Bachelor’s degree in any field.
- High school diploma or GED and four years of full-time post-high school work experience (from any combination of roles).

No pre-requisite language requirements for this position.

Schedule
Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
