Mid/Senior Level Engineer (Design)

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for the design and quality control of system protection and control projects for utility substations.
• This includes one-lines, three-lines, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, bill of material, etc.
• Be responsible for the design and quality control of physical design projects for utility substations.
• This includes electrical plans and profiles, grounding plans and details, conduit and raceway layouts/details/schedules, Bills of Material, and calculations such as voltage drop, conduit fill, breaker sizing, etc.
• Interface with internal and external team members, such as Principal Engineers, Project Engineers, Electrical Designers, Physical Designers, Draftsmen, Project Managers, outside contractors, and support organizations.
• Work with a team to meet project specifications, cost control, and schedule objectives.
• Interact with clients and take a leadership role in assigned aspects of the projects.
• Be involved with project site evaluations and preparing engineering scope.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET accredited engineering school.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology may be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience required.
• Exceptional MSEE/PhD EE graduates may be considered with one year less experience.
• Ability to recognize relay one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, etc.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Strong computer and software skills.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
