About the Role

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is seeking a Mid-Level Verification Engineering Manager to join our ASIC & FPGA Engineering organization in Albuquerque, NM. This centralized engineering capability supports a diverse portfolio of advanced aerospace, space, and defense programs. Engineers contribute across multiple technologies and programs as business needs evolve, providing continuous technical growth and long-term career stability.

Our teams develop advanced digital technologies including ASICs, SoCs, FPGAs, digital processors, communications systems, sensor processing, high-speed digital interfaces, and other mission-critical electronics supporting commercial aviation, defense platforms, national security space systems, satellite payloads, autonomous aircraft, and other advanced applications.

Responsibilities

  • Build a High-Performing Verification Team: Lead recruiting activities including maintaining job requisitions, participating in hiring events, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring recommendations.
  • Lead Program Execution: Drive successful execution across assigned programs by proactively identifying technical, schedule, and staffing risks, removing obstacles, coordinating resources, and promoting accountability.
  • Provide Technical Leadership: Promote engineering excellence through sound verification practices, technical reviews, mentoring, and collaboration with technical experts and engineering leaders.
  • Develop Engineers and Future Leaders: Coach engineers in their technical and professional growth, conduct performance and career discussions, recognize outstanding contributors and emerging leaders, and support employees requiring additional development.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Execution: Partner effectively with ASIC design, FPGA design, systems engineering, software engineering, program management, chief engineers, and functional leadership to successfully deliver complex products.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Champion improvements to engineering processes, onboarding, documentation, communication, metrics, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Support Engineering Excellence: Ensure engineers have the tools, resources, access, approvals, and environment needed to perform at their highest level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or non-U.S. equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 5+ years of relevant ASIC and/or FPGA engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start is required.
  • Typically 5–15 years of relevant ASIC and/or FPGA engineering experience.
  • Strong background in ASIC and/or FPGA digital design, verification, or both, with an understanding of the product development lifecycle.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and prioritization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and develop engineers.
  • Proactive, collaborative, action-oriented leadership style with sound engineering judgment.
  • Ability to balance technical excellence, people development, and program execution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • One (1) or more years of demonstrated success leading development efforts, including project management and earned value tracking.
  • One (1) or more years of experience leading a technical team or managing in an engineering organization.
  • Familiarity with FAA DO-254 certification.
  • Master of Science in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes.
  • Experience in leading, mentoring, and engaging individuals and teams.
  • Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance.
  • Ability to up-level existing team by hiring high-performance talent, growing leaders, and helping underperforming members.
  • Ability to gain trust of team and provide guidance for their careers.

Schedule

This position is expected to be 100% onsite and for 1st shift.

Pay

Summary pay range: $170,000 - $230,000. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
