Mid-Level Ping Identity Engineer
About the role
The Mid-Level Ping Identity Engineer will support and enhance Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions, troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and federation issues, and assist with Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations and federation protocols.
Responsibilities
- Implement, support, and maintain IAM solutions using PingFederate, PingAccess, and PingID.
- Troubleshoot authentication, authorization, and federation issues.
- Support and manage containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Aid with Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations and federation protocols.
- Perform network trace analysis to resolve access-related issues.
- Collaborate with security and infrastructure teams to support firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
- Maintain security event monitoring and assist in improving detection and response mechanisms.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and document solutions and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience: 3–5 years of relevant engineering experience, including hands-on security or IAM implementation.
- Technical Skills:
- Hands-on experience with PingFederate, PingAccess, and/or PingID.
- Development and scripting experience (e.g., Python, shell scripting).
- Practical, hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments, L2/L3 firewalls, VPN technologies, and IDS/IPS solutions.
- Understanding of federation concepts (SAML, OAuth, OIDC).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Social Security number required for eligibility to work in the U.S.
Skills
- Experience with SSO domain in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with passwordless authentication technologies (e.g., HYPR).
- Knowledge of container security best practices and threat analysis.
- Experience supporting cloud-based or hybrid IAM architectures.
