About the role

BCA In-Service Safety Organization is looking for an Airworthiness & Regulatory Engineer to join the Safety and Compliance Investigations (S&CI) team in Everett, Washington. As an engineer in this team, you will work independently and lead teams performing detailed Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations related to regulatory compliance issues. The role involves identifying systemic root causes, developing containment and recurrence prevention actions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements across the airplane lifecycle. Investigations follow the Boeing Problem Solving Model (BPSM) process, and the position offers exposure to all aspects of airplane certification and collaboration with company leadership, certification experts, and functional teams. Responsibilities

  • Identify issues related to FAA-issued Letters of Investigation, Informal or Formal Compliance Actions, Voluntary Disclosures, Self-Audit findings, and Part 25 Airworthiness Non-Compliances.
  • Lead functional engineering organizations (Systems, Structures, Payloads, Propulsion) through structured investigation processes.
  • Coordinate with Boeing functional groups, management, executives, and suppliers to align stakeholders on investigation status and resolution.
  • Investigate regulatory compliance issues by defining problem statements, developing comprehensive root cause analyses, and creating containment actions, recurrence prevention actions, and verification plans.
  • Collaborate with Organizational Designation Authorization (ODA) to ensure investigation documentation meets regulatory expectations.
  • Partner with enterprise groups to continuously improve processes and tools for future BCA readiness and alignment with Boeing Enterprise standards.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • Level 3: 5+ years of experience in an engineering discipline.

Preferred qualifications

  • Level 4: 10+ years of experience in an engineering discipline.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • Experience analyzing and presenting data.
  • Experience developing, leading, and executing projects and utilizing project processes and skills.
  • Experience with aircraft design, certification, integration, or related fields.
  • Experience in customer relationship development, promoting long-term account plans, and growing trusting relationships.
  • Experience with the commercial airplanes certification process.
  • Experience and familiarity with FAA processes and procedures and ODA and Applicant roles.
  • Experience working in one or more of the following aircraft systems: fuel, fire detection and extinguishment, hydraulics, environmental controls, mechanical flight controls, landing gear.
  • Pilot’s license or pilot experience.
  • Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
