Description
- Construction Inspection (Primary Focus)
- Lead projects and/or perform on-site inspection and documentation of WisDOT or other client highway and bridge construction projects.
- Verify contractor compliance with WisDOT standards, specifications, and contract documents.
- Track quantities, review pay applications and maintain accurate daily records using WisDOT reporting systems.
- Communicate directly with contractors, WisDOT staff, and project team members to resolve field issues.
- Design Support (Secondary Focus)
- Use Autodesk Civil 3D to prepare plan sheets, revisions, and technical exhibits for WisDOT projects.
- Absorb roadway and structure design tasks as needed.
- Perform engineering calculations to support design decisions and verify contractor submittals.
- Project & Team Support
- Lead or provide day-to-day support to project managers and engineers across multiple projects.
- Cookordination with WisDOT, local municipalities, and internal team members to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Handle multiple deadlines while producing high-quality work in both design and field environments.
- Communicate effectively with team members, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Provide guidance for staff, promote company growth, and advance current processes.
- Education & Experience
- Minimum of a four-year technical degree in a civil engineering related field or comparable education with relatable experience.
- Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation and local agency procedures. (preferred)
- Technical Knowledge
- Experience using Autodesk Civil 3D (preferred)

- Ability to lift at least 25lbs.
- Prolonged periods on construction sites in all-season weather conditions
- Excessive standing or walking on uneven terrain
- Pushing, pulling, and lifting of equipment or materials
- Use of a keyboard
- On construction sites, in field offices, and corporate office environments as needed
- Occasional travel required for meetings, training, and events
