About the role

We are looking for a skilled and results-driven Manufacturing Engineer with experience working with automotive clients. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, production planning, process improvement, quality systems, and lean manufacturing. You will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving productivity, reducing costs, and ensuring that production activities meet quality, safety, and delivery requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for automotive components/products.
• Work closely with automotive clients/OEMs to understand technical and manufacturing requirements.
• Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for improvement in quality, productivity, cost, and cycle time.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, work instructions, SOPs, process flow diagrams, and control plans.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and process development activities.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, Design, Tooling, and Supply Chain teams.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for manufacturing and production issues and implement corrective actions.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement techniques.
• Monitor production KPIs such as cycle time, OEE, rejection, downtime, and productivity.
• Support tooling, fixture, machine, and equipment development or modification.
• Ensure processes comply with automotive quality and safety standards.
• Participate in customer audits, process audits, PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and related automotive quality activities.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and implement process optimization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide effective technical solutions.
• Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and applicable industry standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Diploma degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in automotive manufacturing/engineering.
• Proven experience handling or supporting automotive clients/OEMs/Tier-1/Tier-2 suppliers.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plan, PPAP, APQP, SPC, MSA, and 8D is preferred.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Skills

• Automotive OEM/client handling experience.
• Experience in new product development and process validation.
• Knowledge of GD&T, drawing interpretation, and basic CAD tools.
• Experience with process optimization and cost reduction.
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality requirements.
• Experience with manufacturing KPI analysis and improvement projects.
