About the role

Mid-level (AI) Java Developer Hybrid in Dallas, TX or Austin, TX

Responsibilities

• Research and development of (functional and technical specifications documents) production and test environments
• Architecture/design/develop solutions
• Develop plans for proof of concept and validation of technology/solutions
• Support the tools and processes to gather detailed user requirements
• Participate in strategic planning discussions with technical, business, and client stakeholders
• Identify gaps in processes and services across environments
• Review programming and environment changes and raise awareness for potential impacts
• Utilize programming tools effectively and efficiently
• Architect and develop effective solutions that align with the organization's vision
• Provide direction to less experienced Programmer/Analysts
• Develop architectural diagrams/documents, develop software codes and automated test scripts
• Write efficient, easy to follow technical documentation
• Act as liaison between technical and non-technical counterparts
• Use AI assistance for common dev tasks (code suggestions, test generation, review support, automation scripts, troubleshooting)
• Apply GenAI in ways that reduce context switching and accelerate delivery across typical workflows
• Establish team-level practices for effective AI-assisted development

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Java, Spring framework, cloud development, and Web Services (REST, SOAP) supporting high volume transactions in a highly available environment
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with GenAI coding assistants used across day-to-day engineering workflows
• 2+ years prior experience with ETL jobs or data pipeline and messaging frameworks
• 1+ years of experience with continuous build process using Bamboo, Bitbucket/Git, or similar tools
• 1+ years of experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), AWS, or GCP
• 1+ years’ experience working with distributed databases like MongoDB, Aerospike, Yugabyte, PostgreSQL
• Practical familiarity with tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Agile methodology and experience in an Agile working environment
• Experience with the Atlassian tool stack (JIRA et alia)
• Experience with .NET framework and programming tools (Visual Studio) and C#
• Experience in RabbitMQ
• Experience in Financial Services industry
• Experience in Test Driven Development
• Ability to analyze and solve problems creatively
• Ability to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders including offshore teams and manage offshore development activities
• Ability to effectively engage subject matter experts and understand technical topics
• Willingness and ability to learn all aspects of test data management and associated tools
• Proven ability to research and document production and test environments along with architecture and design work

Skills

• Practical familiarity with AI tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code
• Knowledge of IT Transformations and system modernization initiatives from legacy to distributed platforms
