This role requires the production of drawings (2D/3D) and written material to support the conceptual direction of interior design and FF&E. You may be required to present ideas in formal and informal settings and respond to constructive feedback.

This is a hybrid role expected to be in the office a minimum of 24 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction administration.
  • Collaborate with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives and ensure the incorporation of design intent.
  • Collaborate with the design team to develop finish palettes, furniture packages, and presentation materials for client and internal review.
  • Produce design and construction drawings.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Work closely with the delivery team and assist with completing projects to meet the client’s established schedule.
  • Develop material palettes and perform product research; assist project designers and project architects with materials selection and system research.
  • Advocate for design excellence and creativity within the practice of interior design, through the lens of sustainable practices.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary teams and coordinate work with consultants, vendors, and other partners.
  • Investigate processes and technology to improve efficiency.
  • Follow established standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Comply with professional ethical standards and codes.

Requirements

  • Able to engage in and advance creative and critical thought.
  • Produce design at a level that would be perceived externally as excellent.
  • Communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
  • Offer and receive criticism and respond appropriately and professionally.
  • Inspire confidence and garner trust and respect with the project team and clients.
  • Review own work for accuracy and completeness to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Scale process, design, and effort to various roles on the project, the needs of the project, and other conditions.
  • Knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry-associated standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Newforma.
  • Proficiency in Revit and supporting modeling software.
  • Excellent graphic, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience.
