Mid-Level Cost Control Analyst-East/West U.S.
About the role
Jacobs is seeking a passionate Mid-Level Cost Control Analyst to join our Project Controls team. This role supports construction and engineering projects from planning through execution, partnering closely with project managers, construction teams, and vendors to ensure accurate cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Lead the setup, monitoring, and ongoing updates of project cost and progress metrics.
- Manage core cost control activities, including budget development and revisions, tracking scope changes and trends, and monthly expenditure and forecast reporting.
- Maintain accurate and timely data within cost management systems and tools.
- Analyze cost and revenue performance and recommend corrective actions to project leadership.
- Review contractor cost submissions and pay applications for accuracy and contract compliance.
- Track and report construction progress using Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
- Cook up with contractors to gather weekly progress updates and upload data into project systems.
- Collaborate daily with project controls, construction teams, and vendors to support successful execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5–7 years of experience in project controls with emphasis on cost management.
- Familiarity with construction contracts, field operations, and pay application processes.
- Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) preferred.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present cost insights clearly.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional project environments.
- Willingness to travel for periodic on-site project support.
- Proficiency with cost and scheduling tools such as Oracle, EcoSys, Unifier and Primavera P6, Microsoft Project.
- Idealistically, you'll also have Certified Cost Professional (CCP). Project Management Professional (PMP). Construction Manager (CCM).

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $95,000.00 to $135,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Employees have the flexibility to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations, enabling them to deliver their best work.
