Mid-Level Construction Inspector

Responsibilities

• Provide inspection services for transportation construction projects.
• Ensure all work and materials used are in compliance with the proposal, plans, and specifications.
• Perform required calculations, take measurements, and verify weights and volumes as needed.
• Plot and run cross sections and prepare "as builds" during the progress of the project.
• Perform materials testing.
• Document inspected work daily.

Requirements

• Heavy lifting required.
• Work outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis.
• Able to perform work independently.
• Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required.
• Extended hours and overnight stays may be required.

Qualifications

• At least two applicable certifications from SCDOT, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
• SCDOT Foundations Certification required.
• Additional SCDOT certifications and CEPSCI certification preferred.
