Responsibilities

  • Skilled sub-professional engineering work in the field and office
  • Provide inspection of specific parts of contract work, such as asphalt laydown operations, grading, or concrete inspection
  • Assist other inspectors on larger projects in performing specific inspection tasks

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience in Construction Engineering and Inspection on road and/or bridge transportation construction projects
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with CMRB
  • The following Certifications are preferred:
    • SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician
    • SCDOT Earthwork and Base Course Technician
    • SCDOT Concrete Technician Level 1 & 2
    • Certified Erosion Prevention and Sediment Control Inspector (CEPSCI)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Passing score on a drug test

Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Knowledge of CMRB
  • Preferred certifications: SCDOT Asphalt Roadway Technician, SCDOT Earthwork and Base Course Technician, SCDOT Concrete Technician Level 1 & 2, CEPSCI
