Mid Financial Analyst/Consultant
About the role
We are seeking a Mid-Level Financial Management Analyst/Consultant to support the Department of the Navy and NAVWAR in Washington, D.C. This is a full-time, onsite position located at the Washington Navy Yard.
Responsibilities
- Enter, maintain, and analyze financial data in government systems (e.g., Navy ERP, Standard Procurement System, and successor systems)
- Aid with budget formulation, cost tracking, and variance analysis
- Measure organizational performance and evaluate program or policy impacts on budget execution
- Research financial and economic trends affecting funding and expenditures
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures governing budget formulation and maintenance
- Manage multiple funding types and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present financial budgets, reports, analyses, and executive-level summaries
- Develop recommendations and courses of action (COAs) to address financial challenges
- Interpret and apply financial management policies, regulations, and strategic objectives
Requirements
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments, both independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with minimal supervision
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (daily use)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Access, Outlook)
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
- Experience with Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (N‑ERP) preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 3–7 years of Navy/DoD financial management or relevant federal consulting experience
- Strongly preferred: Department of the Navy experience, including accounting, finance, consulting, NAVWAR financial systems, and PPBE processes
Skills
- Ability to obtain a SECRET government security clearance (TS/SCI may be required for select projects)

Pay
The Pay Range For This Role Is 70,000 - 95,000 USD per year(Arlington)
