About the role
MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced Microwave Technician in the Mooresville, NC area to support our fast-growing Data division.
Responsibilities
- Preparing, adjusting, and calibrating standard test apparatus or devices.
- Analyzing and recording testing results.
- Utilizing test equipment to conduct functional, operational, and environmental testing.
- Performing detailed RF test measurements such as gain transfer, frequency response, noise figure, modulation, and return loss using manual and automated tests.
- Understanding the operation of various types of test equipment such as Power Meters, Frequency Counters, and Spectrum/Network Analyzers.
- Maintaining and establishing effective working relationships with other employees, contractors, and customers.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of experience in repairing and installing microwave radio systems.
- Hands-on experience with project-specific OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
- A strong technical electronics background, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to conduct failure analysis are a must.
- Knowledge of concepts, characteristics, capabilities, and theoretical design of microwave radio equipment.
- Certified on Wavence or ALU 9500MPR Microwave Radios or be able to pass certification testing within 90 days of employment, a must.
- Understanding of two-way radio / cellular infrastructure communications products, services, and systems.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints, a must.
- Experience with at least one of the following: public safety communications systems, cellular infrastructure, military communications, civil infrastructure construction, desired.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and to adapt to changing work schedules.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and background check.
Skills
- Technical electronics background.

- Knowledge of test equipment operation.
- Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings and blueprints.

Pay
Competitive compensation package.
Schedule
First shift hours Monday – Friday, with occasional 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends depending on project schedules.
Travel
Travel as necessary to support company and customer needs.
