About the role
This senior-level role on a team of system engineers and analysts is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and reliable operation of the Manatt domain, including Exchange, Active Directory (on-prem and Azure), SPAM filtering, TEAMS, VPN, and Identity management.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate mastery in the administration of the Microsoft 365 environment and its capabilities.
- Handle testing, implementation, and deployment of Exchange Online.
- Manage a Query Exchange environment using the Office 365 Command online tool.
- Implement and support security policies, such as data retention.
- Provide technical expertise on the messaging environment in the Cloud (Microsoft 365).
- Manage problem resolution to satisfactory completion by handling tickets escalated to the engineer level.
- Review, test, and make recommendations for functionality of Microsoft 365 including Microsoft Outlook.
- Demonstrate expertise in anti-spam filtering, logging, email tracking, and transport rules.
- Administer Single Sign-On using Multi-Factor Authentication.
- Perform scripting and reporting using PowerShell.
- Develop scripts for automating/updating processes within the environment.
- Manage team performance to ensure it meets or exceeds defined Service Level Agreements.
- Responsible for the VPN solution (Always on VPN).
- Perform migrations and deployments related to the building, upgrade, and maintenance of MS Exchange.
- Conduct monthly audits on the Active Directory environment to reconcile users.
- Collaborate with the Local IT team to establish better process flow to mitigate incidents/tasks.
- Manage users' mobile devices through Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions (MS Intune).
- Troubleshoot ActiveSync issues with mobile devices.
- Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft 365 Teams.
- Create security and distribution groups in Active Directory.
- Create user guides and instructional documents for end-users.
- Manage assigned group and file-level permissions in Active Directory.
- Oversee, configure, and troubleshoot all aspects of Enterprise Systems, including Microsoft, Linux services, Webservers, SQL databases, DHCP, DNS, Print Servers, MS O365, and applications using these services.
- Provide Tier 3 support for escalated desktop issues related to application deployment.
- Evaluate current procedures and processes for accomplishing objectives and continuously develop and implement improved practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years maintaining domain controllers.
- 5+ years’ experience in Windows Operating Systems.
- 5+ years’ experience configuring and managing MS Teams, OneDrive, and O365 applications.
- Experience with Active Directory and ancillary technologies such as DHCP, DNS, GPO, Sites and Services, Logon Scripts, etc.
- Understanding of the differences between on-premise and cloud-based server/software implementations.
- Experience setting up and maintaining Azure AD sync.
- Experience using Intune (or other MDM) to manage mobile devices and endpoints.
- Experience configuring and administering Single Sign-On and Multi-Factor Authentication systems (Okta & Azure a plus).
- Experience with email-related technologies such as archiving, antispam, backups, SMTP tracking logs, etc.
- Experience configuring conditional access policies for Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and O365 applications.
- Experience with Microsoft Network, Security, and Operating Systems (server and workstation installation, configuration, and troubleshooting).
- Experience with Microsoft applications and services such as DHCP, DNS, FTP, IIS, Intune, O365, SCCM, SharePoint, and SQL.
- Experience planning, implementing, and troubleshooting MS O365, Teams, Azure, Exchange Online, and TEAMS.
- Experience installing, setting up, and managing Active Directory domain service.
- Understanding of Azure-based PaaS and IaaS.
- Scripting experience using PowerShell.
- Ability to work in a team environment with other systems administrators and engineers, as well as other computer/facility support organizations.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with responsibility for documentation of system installation and configuration efforts.
Qualifications
- Certifications preferred (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, SCCM / MCSE).
- Follow proper escalation, communications, and change management policies for production system problems.
- Ability to multi-task various related efforts.
