Microbiology Technician
Job Summary
We are seeking a Microbiology Technician II Quality Inspector to support both microbiology laboratory operations and quality inspection activities within a regulated manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for environmental monitoring, product inspection, laboratory documentation, and compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience working in cleanroom environments, follows established laboratory procedures, and maintains accurate documentation while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional inspections of incoming materials, components, and finished products.
- C Conduct product testing to verify compliance with quality specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Document inspection and testing results accurately within quality systems.
- Identify and document nonconforming materials following established quality procedures.
- Perform environmental monitoring activities in cleanroom environments using aseptic techniques.
- Conduct viable air sampling, viable surface sampling, and nonviable particulate monitoring.
- Maintain laboratory records using Laboratory Information Management System software.
- Follow Good Documentation Practices while maintaining accurate laboratory records.
- Support microbiological investigations and corrective action activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to achieve quality objectives.
- Maintain compliance with quality systems, environmental procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- A High School Diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in Quality Inspection, Microbiology, Environmental Monitoring, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and cleanroom practices.
- Experience with environmental monitoring methods including viable and nonviable sampling.
- Experience using Laboratory Information Management Systems.
- A strong understanding of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and inspection processes.
- Strong documentation, computer, communication, and organizational skills.
- The ability to work onsite Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
Preferred Qualifications
- An Associate or Bachelor degree in Biology, Microbiology, or another science-related field.
- Experience using LabVantage Laboratory Information Management System.
- Experience with compressed dry air sampling.
- Experience supporting Quality Management System and Environmental Management System activities.
- Experience working in FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
