Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor

About the role

The Microbiology Laboratory Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the microbiology department at Eurofins USA Food Testing. The position involves managing laboratory staff, ensuring quality control, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision
• Absent from the Business Unit Manager, acts as backup to perform duties including scheduling, supervising, instructing, monitoring, and assisting in the performance of manual and instrumental analyses
• Performs timely and accurate analysis of samples to meet customer commitments, troubleshoot equipment, coordinate major instrument repairs, establish and implement procedures for equipment maintenance, and review and evaluate test data
• Reviews and validates technical data to ensure it is ready to report, conducts hiring decisions, trains and documents the training of assigned technical staff, and reviews personnel performance
• Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient manner

Requirements

• HS diploma plus 5+ years of laboratory experience
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in related field

Qualifications

• BS Degree plus 2+ years of laboratory experience preferred
• Experience in laboratory procedures, data analysis, computer operations, mathematics, and technical/business writing preferred
