Microbiologist
Responsibilities
- Lead investigations and CAPAs.
- Conduct environmental monitoring weekly, which is physically demanding.
- Utilize aseptic techniques and Vitech instruments.
- Perform air monitoring, swabbing, and contact plate completion.
- Weigh products, streak plates, and handle pathogenic bacteria.
- Test raw materials, finished products, and water samples, primarily focusing on nutraceuticals, with some pharmaceutical products.
- Manage multiple product lots and communicate progress with team lead.
- Accurately document results in LIMS and maintain GMP-compliant lab notebooks.
- Support lab maintenance, including balance checks and fridge/freezer monitoring.
- Assist in testing samples received from global sites.
- Support cross-functional teams and focus on physical property and finished product testing.
Requirements
- BS in Biology or life science with a minor in biology.
- At least 3 years of professional laboratory experience in microbiology.
- Experience in food manufacturing.
- Knowledge of food safety risks and audits.
- Expertise in microbiology principles and environmental monitoring.
Essential Skills
- GMP experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Leadership skills are a plus.
- Experience with SAP, Lion, Trackwise is preferred but not required.
- Ability to make independent decisions and judgment calls in a micro lab.
Work Environment
This position operates in a Mon-Fri schedule, either 8-4 or 9-5, with potential weekend availability required once fully trained. The facility is an open campus consisting of 5 buildings with an onsite cafeteria and lounge. You will join a team with similar experienced employees, including one other technician and a supervisor who has been with the company for years. The goal is to develop into a Subject Matter Expert in Microbiology, with a pathway to transition into a leadership role after the contract period.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
