Job Summary
About the role
This position involves performing various duties within Micro Market and vending machines, including machine functionality, product availability, payment processing, and maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Maintains Exchange owned machines and Micro markets daily.
- Inspects and replenishes products, including an assortment of various items such as sandwiches, cakes, pies, popcorn, salads, fruits, pastry, sodas, yogurt, laundry detergent, etc.
- Ensures adherence to product shelf-life for perishables, documents removal of expired food, sanitizes areas, removes aged foods or other merchandise, and maintains cleanliness.
- Greets and engages customers, providing sales assistance and suggesting additional items.
- Safeguards assigned areas, ensures full stock, neat arrangement of merchandise, communicates with supervisor about stock changes, and participates in department meetings.
- Sets up and maintains prices, Exchange branded visual programs, and inventory control in micro markets and vending machines.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of micro markets, sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning counters, wiping down coolers, emptying trash cans, and setting up new machines.
- Assists in resetting merchandise standards, operating electronic devices, and collecting machine servicing information.
- Collects money from vending machines, micro market kiosks, and other machines, prepares cash collection slips, and performs other related duties.
- Operates motor vehicles, loads/unloads merchandise, prepares trip reports, and performs preventive maintenance.
- Interacts with customers and coworkers professionally, adhering to NEX dress code and assisting other team members.
- Becomes knowledgeable about merchandise, communicating product information to customers.
- Performs physical tasks, lifting up to 40 lbs., standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
Requirements
- Valid state driver's license or Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
- Knowledge and skills necessary to operate a motor vehicle safely.
- Ability to pass appropriate background checks for specific areas of responsibility, such as Federal DOD Security Clearance.
- Pass the GSA Defensive Driving Course.
- One year of progressive responsible clerical office or retail sales work, demonstrating customer interaction abilities.
- Half-year of academic study above high school level may substitute for general experience.
- One year of progressively responsible experience in retail, vending store operations, and warehouse environments.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently stands, walks, and lifts moderately heavy objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
