About the role
MHV Maintenance Supervisor (Full-time, Exempt/Non-Exempt: Exempt) at M&H Valve Company, a division of McWane, Inc.
Responsibilities
- Directs and coordinates activities of employees engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines and equipment, and in the maintenance of buildings, grounds, and utility systems of the Foundry, or other departments.
- Develop and maintain a maintenance team built on expertise, responsibility and accountability.
- Initiates or suggests programs and procedures that encourage employee advancement within the organization and fosters a sense of urgency and continuing education and development within the maintenance department.
- Establish team member work schedules based on production and project needs to include completion timelines and budgets.
- Maintain and enhance preventative maintenance programs to ensure reliable and consistent equipment performance.
- Read and interpret hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical blueprints and schematics to include trouble shooting and PLC programming.
- Suggests opportunities for capital expansion or replacement projects that result in increased efficiency, reliability and overall profit.
- Relentless drive to improve production, increase productivity and reduce costs.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Directly supervises employees in the Maintenance Department.
- Carrries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Aids with hiring and training employees
- Plans, assigns, and directs work for the team
- Conducts performance review and coaches/retrains as necessary
- Rewards and applies corrective actions
- Addresses all complaints and resolves associated issues.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Industrial Maintenance or similar degree; or combination of formal training and related experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant maintenance experience
- Minimum 1 years leadership experience
- Sound decision making and strong organizational skills with attention to detail,
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills
- Ability to analyze and solve problems
- Competency with computers and Microsoft Office Suite
- Critical-thinking skills
Language Skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands
- Regularly stand, walk, talk and hear.
- Frequently use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration.
