About the role
As a Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Technician II, you will oversee the safe operation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of MHE equipment, including electric and propane industrial forklifts, pallet jacks, hi-low lifts, scissor lifts, scrubbers/sweepers, battery charging stations and cars, and batteries. You will also assist the Supervisor and Manager of Maintenance to ensure assets are managed in accordance with equipment and parts manufacturers, suppliers, EPA, OSHA, and applicable State and Local Codes.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the repair of the MHE fleet, including monitoring, trending, troubleshooting, and repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (P.M.'s) within manufacturer's guidelines/specifications and established timelines, including oil changes, filter changes, calibration of equipment, belt changes, inspections, adjustments, and lubrication.
- Provide concise reporting of required inspections, evaluations, P.M. procedures, and clear communication with Management.
- Log time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) daily for repairs, P.M.s, etc.
- Communicate daily all pertinent information regarding equipment operation and maintenance to maintenance lead/management and other maintenance teams/shifts.
- Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of all maintenance and work areas daily.
- Interpret and understand plans, specifications, schematics, operating and maintenance manuals for all systems being overseen.
- Assist maintenance lead in developing standard operating procedures, daily work schedules, and duty cycles for all repairs and maintenance for MHE and battery equipment.
- Assist in managing outside battery, MHE, and electrical contractors conducting service, repair, and new contract work.
- Assist maintenance leads in creation of parts lists and managing parts.
- Assist battery technicians with duties including battery charger repairs, battery changes for MHE, repair of plugs and tips of batteries and chargers, watering and washing batteries, acid spill clean-up, battery rack cleaning, battery area sweeping and cleaning, and other general maintenance activities.
- Assist building and refrigeration maintenance teams with general building repairs, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, refrigeration systems repair and maintenance, and other general maintenance activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of experience in an MHE Maintenance position.
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic systems/schematics/components, electrical systems/schematics (both AC and DC), drive motors, power amps, electrical controls including PLC systems.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, drive units, differentials, braking systems, internal combustion motors, telescopic masts, reach mechanisms, steering systems, and suspension systems.
- Some knowledge of building systems (dock doors and plates, electrical, HVAC systems, etc.).
- Manufacturer Certifications (Raymond, Crown, Toyota, etc.).
- ASE Certifications (Electrical, Mechanical, Braking Systems, etc.).
Skills
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, schematics, and manuals.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks in various warehouse environments.

Sunday - Wednesday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Starting at $28 per hour
