About the Role

This position is accountable for the in-field application of policies and procedures relating to applied Radiation Protection (RP) programs. You will directly manage Radiation Protection first-line Supervisors and Technicians in their daily support of plant Operations and maintenance activities at Peach Bottom CEC in Delta, PA.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Radiation Protection Program Manager in developing, reviewing, and implementing department procedures and policies, ensuring compliance with federal and company regulations.
• Participate in business planning, budgeting, and performance reviews related to RP and site operations.
• Fulfill managerial responsibilities for assigned staff, including employment, development, compensation, and performance evaluations.
• Ensure consistent and effective workforce practices through assigned supervisors and functions.
• Attend peer meetings to implement industry best practices and standards uniformly across all sites.
• Manage department activities, priorities, and resources to meet the needs of Operations and Maintenance, including planning and budgeting for refuel outages.
• Oversee the performance improvement of RP first-line Supervisors and Technicians.
• Represent the department in the absence of the Radiation Protection Senior Manager.
• Provide critical observations and feedback to site and departmental staff to foster continuous improvement.
• Perform additional duties as directed, including emergency response, departmental coverage, call-outs, and support of outage activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline with 8 years of power plant or related industrial experience, OR
• Current or previous Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license with 8 years of related experience, OR
• Associate degree with 10 years of related experience, OR
• High school diploma/GED with 12 years of related experience.
• Supervisory or managerial experience.
• Must meet requirements outlined in ANSI/ANS-3.1-2014 (4.4.6) Standard, including 3 years of related experience (2 years in nuclear power plants and 0.25 years on-site), with 6 months in radiation protection activities.
• Maintain minimum access or unescorted access requirements, including favorable medical examination/testing as applicable.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in applied radiation protection in nuclear power facilities.
• 3 years of supervisory experience in two or more functional areas of radiological protection (e.g., ALARA, bioassay, decontamination, dosimetry, radiochemistry, environmental monitoring, instrumentation, operations, or waste management).
• National Registry Radiation Protection Technician (NRRPT) or Certified Health Physicist (CHP) certification.
• 3 years of supervisory or managerial experience.
• Previous RP Supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations, Station Technical Specifications, and Final Safety Analysis Report documents.
• INPO-accredited ANSI Radiation Protection Technician qualification.

Pay

Expected salary range of $153,900 to $171,000, based on experience.
