About the role

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a Manager, Project Management 2 to join the Newport News Direct Department in Newport News, VA. In this role, you will work closely with the E84 Propulsion and Nuclear Test Departments at Newport News Shipbuilding to coordinate, plan, and advance new and existing business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the operational execution of ongoing projects, serving as the primary liaison between project management, planning, project teams, and line management.
• Review project and budget status, manage schedules, and prepare comprehensive status reports.
• Evaluate project issues and develop effective resolutions to achieve productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction objectives.
• Establish and implement mechanisms for monitoring project progress, and lead intervention and problem-solving efforts in collaboration with project managers, line managers, and clients.

Requirements

• 6 years of relevant progressive experience with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 4 years with a Master’s degree; or a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 10 years of relevant progressive experience.
• Waterfront Test Engineering experience.
• Project Management experience.
• Proficiency in personal computers and common business software applications (word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, desktop tools, and email).
• Must hold or be eligible for a Confidential security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the E84 Test Engineering Departments of Newport News Shipbuilding.

Physical Requirements

• May be required to visit job sites in industrial or shipboard environments.
• Normally not required to lift more than 40 pounds higher than three feet above floor level.

Pay

Anticipated salary range: $99,408 – $109,000 per year.
