Responsibilities
- Direct provision of pastoral/spiritual care to physicians, staff, patients, and families.
- Training and supervision of pastoral care volunteers and staff for provision of 24/7 coverage.
- Management of relationships with local clergy faith communities.
- Management and implementation of system Mission & Ministry initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- ACPE - Association for Clinical Pastoral Education - Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, CPE - Clinical Pastoral Education - Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, NACC - National Association of Catholic Chaplains - U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops Subcommittee on Certification for Ecclesial Ministry and Service
- Minimum of two years Experience in a healthcare setting after completion of minimum academic and clinical pastoral requirements.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree from a college, university, or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Accreditation (www. chea. org).
- Graduate-level theological degree from a college, university or theological school accredited by a member of the Council for Higher Accreditation (www. chea. org; www. ats. edu).
- Degree must include a minimum of 72 semester hours (108 quarter hours) of credit and qualify as a Master of Divinity equivalent.
- Master of Divinity preferred.
- Provide documentation of ordination, current endorsement or good standing in accordance with the requirements of his/her own faith tradition or endorsing agency.
- Four units of Clinical Pastoral (ACPE, NACC, CASC).
- Certification as recognized by the following Spiritual Care organizations: Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Association of Professional Chaplains, Canadian Association for Spiritual Care, National Association of Catholic Chaplains and Neshama Association of Jewish Chaplains; or others as agreed upon by the Director of Pastoral Care and VP of Mission and Ministry that meet the Common Qualifications and Competencies for Professional Chaplains (www. professional chaplains. org/files/2017%20Common%20Qualifications%20and%20Competencies%20for%20Professional%20Chaplains. pdf).
- Demonstrated skill set and professional ethics that meet both the Common Qualifications and Competencies for Professional Chaplains and the Common Code of Ethics for Chaplains, Pastoral Counselors, Pastoral Educators and Students (www. professional chaplains. org/files/professional standards/common standards/common_code_ethics. pdf).
