Mgr, Packaging Project
About the role
SGX, part of the Propelis Group, brings together more than 150 years of combined experience in packaging graphics, prepress, and print production. This role manages day-to-day client project management, overseeing the overall process and timeline while proactively solving challenges. The position uses strong technical and category knowledge along with consumer insights to resolve complex problems throughout the project lifecycle. The Manager is client-facing and collaborates across multiple stakeholders, acting as the primary liaison in the packaging development process.
Responsibilities
- Works with cross-functional teams to develop project scope and timelines that meet project goals and priorities.
- Facilitates inputs required for creative development with brand design agencies for packaging design projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery from category audit through initial design concept to handoff.
- Monitors production art development from agency handoff through final materials.
- Facilitates resolution of art file or printing issues with suppliers/printers.
- Leads all design extensions and adaptations across multiple structures and substrates for optimal design and print production results.
- Communicates and manages the print process with printers and design agencies.
- Develops, communicates, and manages project priorities, timelines, and status to internal and external partners.
- Resolves or assists in resolving issues within and between projects; develops methods to monitor artwork project progress and address issues.
- Follows up to ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations.
- Ensures risk assessment and contingency planning are communicated, agreed upon, and acted on to keep projects on track or escalate unresolved issues.
- Ensures compliance with processes and establishes discipline in standardized ways of working.
- Manages the approval process between internal and external partners, ensuring alignment at every step of design and activation.
- Collects packaging project inputs and partners with stakeholders to secure and validate necessary inputs for effective project execution.
- Provides technical consultation to Product Teams to ensure efficient and effective packaging production.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of employees to accomplish goals or objectives; mentors, coaches, trains, and develops the team.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Graphic Arts, Marketing, Advertising, or a related field.
- Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred.
- 6+ years of previous project management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Occasional travel, either locally, nationally, or internationally, may be required.
- High degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Internet applications.
- Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), and planning skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including analysis, interpretation, and reasoning.
- Solid understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers, colleagues, and clients.
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.

Pay
The U.S. pay range for this position is $70,000 USD - $80,000 USD annually. Pay reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets and considers the successful candidate’s location, experience, and other job-related factors.

Schedule
This is a remote position in the U.S. Candidates may reside in various states, with the exception of AK, DC, ME, NH, NM, OK, HI, MS, MT, NV, NE, ND, SD, VT, WV.
