About the role

The Transportation Manager oversees the PACE and Reid Health Non-Emergent Transportation programs under the supervision of the PACE Associate Director. Responsibilities include managing transportation services, scheduling, hiring, training, and supervising staff, as well as ensuring operational efficiency and adherence to departmental budget goals.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the transportation staff, completes rounding and annual reviews, manages schedules, assists with route planning, communicates updates to drivers and the PACE team, conducts performance evaluations, recognizes and rewards employees, addresses complaints, and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings, communicates participant changes, collaborates on care planning, and ensures coordination of 24-hour care delivery.
  • Investigates accidents and incidents, ensures documentation and notification, collaborates on budget development, maintains departmental budget, tracks and trends historical data, and implements operational changes.
  • Oversees vehicle maintenance, researches new vehicle options, orders and purchases vehicles, ensures compliance with DMV requirements, maintains cleanliness and equipment, ensures staff attendance at required training courses, develops and maintains operational policies, and holds staff accountable for compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Follows all policies and procedures, adheres to OSHA safety guidelines, maintains confidentiality, handles potentially infectious specimens with appropriate precautions, participates in Quality Improvement initiatives, attends continuing education classes, maintains professional affiliations and certifications, and complies with CMS PACE regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum Education: Associate degree or 3 years of experience in a transportation setting; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2 years of administrative/supervisory experience in a transportation setting; 5 years of experience in the transportation industry preferred; 1 year of experience working with the frail and elderly preferred.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Valid driver’s license, CPR certification.
